Acupressure for natural induction

Acupressure was first practiced in Asia known as acupuncture.

Acupressure was first practiced in Asia known as acupuncture. Acupuncture was by applying pressure on the points with the help of needles, but in acupressure the use of needles is omitted and pressure is rather applied through fingers. Applying pressure on one part of the body might relieve you from the pain happening in the other part.

Our human body is all interlinked like if you have a headache then probably you should press the point present in between of your second and third toe and If you have back pain then you should be applying pressure behind the knee joint.

In the same way, some points can help you overcome your labor pain and irregular contractions, well they are the contractions and relaxations of the uterine muscles.

To avoid irregular labor contractions and to overcome the pain the first point is the “webbing” which is present on the palm, between the thumb and the index finger. Rubbing the area with two fingers so as to lay pressure on the point may provide relief or pressing it firmly for a minute or two might also help.

The next simulating area is present in the foot, there are two pressure points in the foot area, first is outside the ankle, behind the bony prominence this can also be pressed or rubbed a couple of times. The other point is a bit hard to find, it is suggested that a physiotherapist can help you reach these points better.

Another pressure point is situated in the lower back, above the hip. The area can be massaged and pressed.. As per the tolerance level of the patient! This too helps to comfort the patient and overcome the pain.

The last one is quite common and is used for initiating labor. It is situated in the neck region, between the neck and the shoulder, this area can be massaged and pressed as per the tolerance level of the patient!

I hope these tips might be of some use to you.. but it’s always good to take advice and practice under the supervision of a doctor!
